Ray, Mike and Natalie headed to France at the weekend for the first recce for Mule Normandie. It wasn’t a holiday! We drove the 50 mile route sorting out morning, lunch and afternoon stops (our Mules always have time for a beer…sorry coffee…); we either stayed in or visited the hotels we’re going to be using, ate in or found restaurants for dinner and found a selection of places for our Mules to stop along the route.
All went worryingly well, 50 mile route is lovely, Mike particularly likes days three and four – nice and gentle and some lovely views!
And we put an order in for sun for June….what could possibly go wrong….
Day 1 – Saint Lo to Omaha Beach
View from hotel in Saint Lo
So which way do we go….??
Don’t worry we’ve ordered the sun for June…

There’s a spa and TWO golf courses at the hotel….Mike reckons he’ll get his Dream Team there in plenty of time to get nine holes in…..
Day 2: Omaha Beach to Flers via Bayeux
We may have taken a wrong turn….

Day 3: Flers to Mont St Michel
Ready for the off on a sunny but frosty morning, car looks like it’s been on a rally after being battered by the sand in the wind yesterday!
50 milers, you’ll like day three, especially if the sun shines like this….beautiful scenery
Mont St Michel – well worth a visit. Working on a restaurant inside the walls for dinner here
