Last night dinner in Dinan at Le Zag sitting out on the balcony having pizza listening to live music – perfect evening!
Shelley was judge and jury for the final court session….appeal was futile! Dave started his fines leading the group to the restaurant in high vis, so he couldn’t get lost, carrying the tricolore.
Presentations were made to our brilliant crew: Natalie, Steve, Stuart, Sally, Chesi, Rick, Joe and Brian.
Each group had voted for a member of their team to be awarded the tour yellow jersey and the Mules selected were Cameron, Andy, Dammers, Lee, Kirk and Michelle.
Mike and Ray then had a couple of wildcards which were awarded to Keeley who this time last year was in a coma and spent a month in intensive care; Dammers for sitting on the front of his group for 45 of the 50 miles into the wind to get them to Mont St Michel in the terrible weather; and Shelley for all his help over the course of the trip as our translator, very conscious we asked for his assistance a lot on this trip.
Finally, Natalie and Steve had been asked to select an individual or group as their Mule of the Tour having seen all the riders over the course of the trip. Not wanting to pick an individual as everyone had been so brilliant they felt there was one group who had worked so well together, supported each other throughout the trip and were always in great spirits: Mark, Stuart, Cameron, Alec and Duncan.
The perfect end to a fantastic tour!
